The rent has been month to month. I always knew deep down that this would happen.
Still.
I'm devastated.

devastated as you should be. I feel for you.
SO sorry! Hard and sad.
And such short notice-ugh.
I felt it necessary to post this news, because it has so much to do with everything I have been posting about here.
Also, it is so hard to believe it.
bother.
let's hope it means the Dogs Above have an even better one lined up for you
sometimes it's time to move on and we don't want to realize it ourselves, so outside pressure is needed. keep looking - another one will turn up!
Oh no! I hope there's an even better one out there just waiting for you to find it. Good luck!
I am so sorry. It is like losing a piece of yourself whenever that happens. I too have had my share of studio losses.
Oh dear...sigh. Can you build on to your house maybe? Meanwhile, hard as this is, perhaps a time to organize, though I think you're probably already well organized....sigh #2 My sympathy sighs in your direction.
oh crap, that's a hard time
it's just a new challenge...
a new leaf will be turning...and treasures perhaps might be unearthed. challenge yes, but another new journey begins.
oh my yes, I can imagine, but I know that something great will turn up for you...
Oh No! When it rains it ... oof.
Someday, when they recognize you and your work as a local and National Treasure of Canada, they can hang their heads in shame.

*(You could run for mayor and reclaim your space) ;)

Everything of value in that space is lit with you: your brilliance, your soul-time, dream time, your silence and your light, your art. Your Love.
This Love Never dies...:) It all will follow you wherever you go. (But not fair, not fun.) Praying for a good space!
Yes, devastating... Hopefully, as this door closes, another will open. Crossing my fingers for you!
Oh, Judy, I'm so sorry to read this. I wish you a wonderful new space and an easy move.
well crap. no other way to say it...it sucks.
That sucks! Moving studio is a huge disruption to the creative process. May you find another studio that meets your needs and that you can stay in until the end of time.
Oh! A hug across miles and cyber-space! Like any pending/potential loss, until it happens, there's always the hope and very real possibility it won't. I do hope you can find something that will work well...the right location, the right light etc. Will keep your need in my prayers.
the studio is not your
Art.
home. how can it be Home.
sorry, Judy.
It is the moving that is scaring me right now. I do not have time for that.
Thanks very much for all your support. sincerely.
Oh Judy that is a pain but I bet something wonderful awaits.
wish I were close enough to help you move!

this is a bummer, indeed. but maybe something better will arrive? it could be.
I always envied anyone who could afford a studio outside their home .... somewhere to work quietly (well, music is a must), where meals weren't an issue and the door could be locked, no phone, etc ... a dream and fantasy of mine !
But I see that there can be downfalls and I am so sorry you are losing your studio ! Not nice !
But I'm sure it won't keep a great artist down for long !
Oh no but I'm sure lots of positive things will come out of this change.
Oh I am so saddened by this news Judy... let me know if I can help in any way.
OH, my God Judy. I am late to this party.....I am SO SO SO sorry. I know what it means to be without a place and how hard it is to find one. I am sinking into this with you. Knowing you will find a way......some way.....to move forward. And knowing all of this in the end is for the better...but does not diminish the pain. With LOVE and Light and lifting prayers....Marianna
Wah, indeed. for the loss of space to call your own, of course, and (just as much if not more) for the time it takes you away - time scouting for new digs, packing, moving, unpacking, setting up. I'm sure you'll find a new studio, but that time away is stress and distraction you don't need.
What an awful surprise! I don't know why I am thinking how much the cats feel completely lost when they owners bring them to a new house...
Good luck.
On the other hand, I always thought your studio was at your home...
My studio was on the second floor of a government building that holds the Canada post office. A few years ago, the building transferred from the federal government to the municipal government. the Canada post office pays rent to the town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (Little Current). The building is quite imposing, in need of repair, and is right in the middle of town. My second floor space has four large windows that face north, and give me an open view of the beautiful north channel and constant light. I was given an extremely good rental amount, because the town was figuring out what they would do with the building. Three of the four windows have lost their seal, and although the light is good, the view is compromised. The ceiling has a leak. The beautiful marble stairs are great exercise for me - there is no handicapped access as yet, no elevator. I wonder how that will work for a public office space where people (many elderly) come to pay their municipal bills.
It was nice for me to leave my home which is on the lake, ten miles from town, drive the beautiful lonely highway 20 minutes, and 'GO TO WORK". I did not take my computer, I did not think about the laundry or meals while there. My he(art) totally changed during my time there - it became larger on so many levels. I don't think it will be possible to replace this space.
Still mourning it - but moving on.
Thanks so very much for all the support and understanding you have each given me.
