The back of me

When April was about ten or so, she was surprised to find out that I had never been to New York.
"When I'm 25, mom" she said. "Let's go to New York." So we made a date. A promise. A pinky swear.
I still haven't gone....she's turned 25...so we're leaving Montreal for New York on Wednesday.
I am very excited, but still it is very hard to leave my quiet. All images have to do with urgent deadlines.

  2. I know - it is going to be great.

It's just getting out of here that is hard - once I'm across the bridge, things will be fine.

  4. Have a fabulous time in NY! I haven't really been there myself, except just passing through a couple times. And often I yearn to go. So enjoy it for me, too!

  10. Oh! Have a wonderful time in NYC! The city should be gorgeous right now.
Actually, you'll only be a train ride away from where I live in CT.

Happy 25th to April as well!

  17. I spent the summer as an "au paire" in White Plains when I was 16 (that would be 1969). I went into The City whenever I was off -- Broadway ("Mame" with Anne Miller), Radio City Music Hall, top of the Empire State Building, FAO Schwartz for toys, the United Nations -- once went in with another au paire and spent a happy hour trying on fur coats in Saks 5th Avenue! Have a glorious time. It is a special place. Visit the garment district. Buy fabric. Enjoy!
