Chance touches on the very idea of freedom. To give yourself over to chance is to embrace freedom, the unknown, total openness. Montreal curator Claude Gosselin spoke about the importance of chance in contemporary art in a recent Canadian Art magazine. It reminded me of the way I choose threads for my daily journal.
I close my eyes.

Canadian lakes! Canoing in one of them has been one of the most impresive esperiences in my life... I was lucky to had the chance...
I think I'll close my eyes more often.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful
part of your life!
LOL I remember when I started quilting and people recommended putting all your pieces into a brown paper bag and pulling them out randomly... Never seemed to work for me for whatever reason and I ended up using other systems to shuffle my pieces and help randomize them. But the sense of total chance, sometimes I have to really work at that. Thanks Judy.
