Pieced quilts are built. The whole is made from separate smaller shapes.Piecing is reparative. The act of piecing is a metaphor for nurturing. All pieces of life, some worn and faded, some new and jarring, are put together.
Piecing is a way of speaking the feelings we’ve hidden.
