Sweet grass mats

At the family cottage there is a large collection of old Ojibwa sweet grass mats, many of them made on Manitoulin. The centers are round or oval pieces of birch bark stitched with dyed porcupine quills. I've propped this (much used) one in my studio space at the cottage as an inspiration.
