At the age of 56 Emily Carr began to travel into the BC forest after a self imposed thirteen year break from painting. The beautiful paintings made during her crone years are now considered to be her most powerful. Emily Carr is one of my muses and I have appropriated her oil painting "Scorned as Timber, Beloved of the Sky" into a quilt.
