I've been enjoying producing samples for the workshops in London Ontario next month.
Inspired by traditional embroideries from India, Japan and Scandinavia, I am finding powerful and beautiful connections in our human hand-work across centuries and continents.
A work of art is a gift.
It circulates among us as a reservoir of available life.

I just love your work, so beautiful!
This new workshop prep is filling my days, and I have to say that i am truly enjoying it, as I am learning folk-art methods of making circles. There are not really many 'instructions' out there - creative women in villages of long ago just figured it out or learned from their mothers.
The most amazing thing I have learned is that similar methods of creating circles in folk-embroidery exist in places that are geographically and culturally very different.

I am late in catching up reading my blog list....always in a rush these days. I am looking so forward in attending a day in London. A day to learn, relax and just stitch! Seeing samples make it more inviting!
