Eva Hesse

Contingent, fibreglass and polyester resin, cheesecloth, 1969. Eva Hesse Seam, latex and filler on wire mesh, grommets, 1968. Eva Hesse

Eva Hesse complicated minimalism and made work that engages our emotions. The more I learn about art, the more I appreciate the courage of Eva Hesse.

Her work has always been strangely compelling for me too.

i always look at hesse work and a sound that wants to break out of it's binding...her work isn't a quiet whisper but a klang...it's a struggle needing understanding.
