Today, students and staff received the news that the Julia Caprara School of Textile Arts has closed.
I cannot believe this. My heart goes out to those who had to make this difficult decision.
My work has been transformed by the rigor and challenge required of me. It has been affirmed by attention paid to it and the one on one feedback by tutors I respect.

what a shock it must be....did you see it coming at all?
OH no, but PLOUGH ON. Sad as it is, it must have been expected after Julia was gone. A shame though for those who were committed to such a journey.

what a shock for you all, l hope you find other places to teach, be taught or find new adventures.

That explains why they had not written back to Verona Tessile's invitation to exhibit work by their students for March 2012. I am so disappointed about their closure. I was going to sign up last year but then got a book deal so put it off till that was published. Now I do not know where to go. I guess many who have started their program are lost as well.
I'm sad to hear this. Is this the school through which you were doing your long-distance studies?

I think we have to try to stay positive and believe something will work out Judy. I am trying to focus on all I have achieved through taking the course so far. Your work is always beautiful and so meaningful. Ultimately that is what matters. x
so sad for you, but nothing can take away the quality of your lovely work, that will last and last

I can't begin to imagine the disappointment you and fellow students are feeling now. I hope an alternative is found so that you may complete your degree.
i'm so sorry. i hope the credits can transfer to another program... or something... your work has been so inspirational to me... just keep going!

What a gut rench for you, Im so sorry.
But your work is thoughtful and meaningful in its own right, whether it was ever aiming for being part of a marked assessment or not.
It shows how fine a mind you have and how wonderfully your fingers stitch.
It says much about you and you have much to be proud of!
Judy, with all your talent, intelligence, and sensitivity, you'll find another way. My thoughts are with you as you grieve the closing of this door. Something amazing will happen, just keep your eyes open.
THis is so sad. I've seen this referred to so many times by the students. I'm sure that the work you have done will be accredited to whoever takes it over, and I'm sure someone will. Your work is beautiful.
