What I'd like to do this summer is paint every Monday. 9 to 5.
My teaching has stopped, I have a little more time.
But it was really difficult to start. It took me more than an hour of procrastination. I thought - why is this so hard? Just DO it. Treat your painting like you do your stitching - start and see what comes next.
So, I fell back on these marks.
I do feel invigorated. Fresher.

Me too! It feels good.
good. discipline is sometimes hard to begin, but doing it was worth it.
these are lovely works .... it just shows that an artist's touch shines through regardless of medium.
yes, great advice! and I keep loads of gesso nearby.... just incase!!! LOL!
It's always my problem too, getting started is so hard. It's why I usually have half a dozen things going on at the same time, so I don't have to think about it!
I so enjoy your paintings... I am glad you 'got going'.
Wonderful dots...reminds me of our aboriginal art.

I love the way you live your life...completely.
