my small quilting hoop

I've been staying up quite late in the evenings here in Anchorage so that I can get my (necessary) meditative stitching done once everyone else goes to bed. I'm using a small circular quilting hoop that fits in a suitcase.

Another beautiful piece that has been a joy to watch come together. What size is it?

Jill, this quilt is quite large - 79" square.
I have not worked with so much whole cloth before and am quilting the striped silk with different colours of linen embroidery floss.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments, I really appreciate your positive feedback.

This quilt and the one below I love because of the sheer 'density' of stitching, which gives an similar appearance (to my uninformed eye) a that of the fabric 'seersucker'. So wonderful to touch and hold, very durable too.

Does this type of 'concentrated stitcherey' have a name in quilting terms? Best wishes.
