good news

Good news from here.
The snow is going.
I have a second studio space (bedroom sized) with new pin walls.
Ned put the 12" square ceiling tiles up last weekend.
This was April's room in high school.  She pinned a collage of the cosmos to the ceiling.
Pinning to the ceiling gives me almost enough height.  Pictured is an untitled piece from 2012.

I'm intrigued by the long narrow piece in the top picture. Is it a work in progress? Do you have detail pics?

P.S. Thanks for the mention (in a comment on my blog) about Gaston Bachelard's The Poetics of Space. It's been on my reading list for the new series and your comment gave me the nudge to order it. Synchronicity is amazing.

Congrats on the new studio !
I'm not sure exactly why, but your untitled piece, 2012, intrigues me. Is it a finished piece or waiting for stitch ?

Is the white 2012 piece hanging from the ceiling saying "Turn me sideways?"

I really wish I could just jump into the picture to get a more personal feeling about those circles [in the 2012 piece]

I think you need a lovely old barn with walls to the sky, as 8..9 feet seems a little limiting for your works.

Will you leave April's cosmos on the ceiling? I have my daughters painted 'ice berg' on her wall to leave me wondering 'why?'.

Thanks to those who questioned the 2012 white piece.

I had bundled that thing up in the late summer of 2012 and gave up on it for a while. Unpacked it last week and had a look - photo here.

Is it needing something? Does it need to go sideways? Does it need to be folded? Does it need to be tossed.

Right now, it is in the hot water being washed with three detergents for the second time.
Then I'll look at it again, and feel my way some more.

thanks v much for stopping by xx

Congrats on the new studio space! Hadn't thought of pinning to the ceiling, but what a great idea. Can't wait to see what wonders you produce in the new space. Enjoy!

The tiles are just great. So nice to have a space to let your work stretch out and breathe.

Congratulations on the new studio, Judy! Having walls that you can pin things to is a great idea, too...
