work is a gift

I made these little zippered cases for my daughters and friends. Not hard work but careful work
Not hard work but repetitive work Work can be a gift

These are lovely. Zips are a black art to me; I've never really been able to master them.

Is that wax resist Judy? Perhaps we could do some on our retreat? I've got soy wax and bees wax somewhere in the house!

It is, indeed...

No, Penny. Not wax resist.
I have had this navy dotted fabric in my house for years and years - purchased originally to make myself a dress, used by daughter April to make herself a tent around her bed when she was a teen, now put to good use as a quilt back. These little purses were made from a nearly completed quilt that I severely trimmed. The pieces of pre-hand quilted cloth were so precious, they held so much time and work. I felt that they needed to be honoured, used, shown, gifted.

Beautiful...the stitches, the size, the textile. I want to learn to slow down this year.

They are beautiful - small and useful and therefore just beautiful. Now I feel like making some which with Jude's course coming up I can't so I will come back and look at these now and then.
