stitching and thinking

I read about Christine LoFaso's art today in an old 1995 Fiberarts magazine. The article was by Alison Ferris and talked about LoFaso's Hysteria project. I was interested because the artist used women's clothing metaphorically. Ferris says "Clothing is an ideal vehicle for expression because it embodies contradictions. Clothing functions simultaneously as a form of self expression and a cultural symbol, yet these two concepts are not always consistent with each other."
I like that art work using clothing can be read on multiple levels.
