You've done enough research. Pull yourself out of yourself. 
The trouble with photography is it's so easy to get seductive images. It's harder if you draw.
Do something NOT inspired by the written word. You're trying to be clever. You have to work more from the belly. Stop looking out the window. Put away your camera.
