This quilt covered my mother every day since I gave it to her for Christmas in 1984. She passed away on Monday with it over her after a long illness and I am feeling such a huge absence.

Dear Judy, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As bitter-sweet as our relationships can be with our mothers, somehow they are always the intricate thread through the patterns, shapes and textures we make for ourselves. I will call you after you're back on the Island. Dale
From the experience of losing my son last July, the absence is acute and painful. One day at a time, be gentle on yourself Judy. I send my best to you as you start this journey with your Mother in your heart.
