Each stitch is a second

Hand stitches hold time and make it visible. The sheer amount of them stand in for the period of time (months) that I have been with this quilt. The repeated touching by my hand is like a caress. Its visible time and visible love.

Calendar

When my children were small I made twelve wall hangings from seasonal fabrics and family snapshots. Our youngest was just one at the time.

Heard today in the post office. "If only we would remember to be grateful for what we already have. We are so very lucky."

Saatchi Gallery

Well, I continue to be amazed by the power of the internet to connect people all over the world. I've spent a good portion of my computer time today and yesterday uploading some of my work into the yourgallery part of the most wonderful online Saatchi Gallery. Part of what took so long was all of the things and artists that one can view and read about on that amazing space itself. I've put a link to the Saatchi gallery in my side bar.
