At present I am inspired by the abstract paintings of Canadian painter, Robert Houle. I love what he said about his formative years as an artist.
"My abstract paintings, although neutral, are based on contention. My McGill University professor asked the class to paint love. I painted three panels - red, purple and blue. Twenty something is a formative period of discovery and abstracting a strong human emotion into a tnagible object is daunting. It was a turning point. Abstraction would answer the perennial question of where I stood."
