A touchstone: “When the heart is open and the mind is still, when our attention is fully in this moment, then the world becomes undivided for us and we know what to do.” Frank Ostaseski. (And I have the new Gamache.)
funny, I also find myself obsessively reading Louise Penny's books... something about the idea of being snowed in at a cozy B&B or bistro. I admire your work.
Funny it looks like books are the subject of the weekend...well at least for you, me. Dee, Grace...the ones I've noticed so far.Yours look to be good ones. Those many stitches are an invitation I could not refuse. I may never get out of bed!
I have the Agnes Martin. I love Louise Penny's work but the last several titles have been too dark, too dark to read. I find solace in stitching too. Hugs!
Thanks for the hugs, friends. It's a tough time for the world...and each of us has to navigate our days the best we can. Resting is a good thing to do, and also reading fiction. I also came across these two ideas: 1. Practice something that puts you into a state where you connect to yourself - some people pray, some meditate - and I realize that I do this kind of praying when I stitch. Stitching is a good thing. 2. Finish one thing at a time. The accomplishment of finishing things up rather than doing a little of this, a little of that - will help fix the feeling of being overwhelmed. Finishing is a good thing.
(((Judy))) strange days indeed!
ReplyDeleteRest, my darling!
ReplyDeleteThis quote helps me- "Come back to the present moment and touch life deeply" Thich Nhat Hanh, this is how I am surviving- one moment at a time
