 softness
 honesty
 humility
 bleeding
our bodies are a way of knowing

  2. This feels so true ... even not being able to physically touch the stitches on this whole/hole cloth. And I am left wondering where the pieces have gone/will go ...

    1. I did use them Liz and edited the post to show how those wool sequins were added to top and bottom edges.

    2. Thank you for that ... they are truly metaphorical, and surely each person who views the whole will read their own story into it

  4. Your writing, your work with cloth and thread - it is another kind of breathing.

  5. Oh my goodness Judy - this is an amazingly beautiful treasure!! I love the 'peepholes' in this wonder and what an inspired decision to add the missing pieces
to the bottom and top edges. It would be wonderful to actually stand close and see the stitching and movement.

    1. thank you for saying these things.
this is a blanket found in a thrift shop, with mended areas
and then I over dyed it
and then I looked at it
and then I made the vulva shape
and I felt so vulnerable the whole time
      I had to cut holes
      xo
