quiet making

wrapping
it's a natural thing to do
it gives a good feeling when I do it
it orders things
it's rhythmic
my daily work
it's emotional therapy
as I stitch, other things fall into space
the time it takes helps me to be quiet
inner time goes backwards and forwards
time is recycled

I so totally agree, stitching is deeply meditative, and excellent therapy - with the bonus that you have something to see for your quiet time.

  4. perhaps the need to be centered is how we define ourselves to ourselves...and a place to find ourselves when we get lost. your hands have grace.

  5. I like the pace of this... your reflections... there is something crucial about working on a timeless craft, something that can reach back in time...

  10. I feel the same when I stitch. You have described it very well, the way the line of time changes...
