Energy Cloth in Toronto

The Ontario Craft Council has a lovely gallery space in downtown Toronto. We got there just before it closed yesterday and I found it thrilling to see my work in this context. Only 35 pieces were selected this year in honour of the OCC's 35 year anniversary. This fewer than usual number allowed for beautiful juxtapositions and just enough empty space. Here is my Energy Cloth with a stoneware teapot by Christopher Reid Flock and a spalted maple vessel by Jim Lorriman. Six textile pieces are included. Above is Joyce Seagram's Three Big Bowls I am counting this wall piece made by Daniel Durocher from wooden matches as a textile.

We were in Toronto to meet an airplane. It was perfect that Uncle Jay could came out to the airport with us.

Now I can wear my grandma hat again.

YAY

  7. Judy, very energizing...spirals spinning in and out, eternal return on cloth. It appears to hold chaos in its center with the juxtaposition of the square frame. Very strong. Adds strength to the earth elements of the objects around it. Congratulations.
