indigo threads

Continuing with the indigo work, I've dyed a skein of tencel to stitch into the dyed cloth.




















Highly reccomended: sri threads

  2. That's a good question, Jude.
    I used the tencel fibre because I had it in my dye shelf - purchased a while back from a Canadian dye supplier.

    It is a cellulose fibre, made from wood pulp like rayon is. It accepts dye well.

    After your question, I researched further and found this informative web site about tencel. It's biodegradable, environmentally accepted - but is not as organic as other natural fibres.
