Layers of Time, the fourth panel of the Manitoulin Circle Project, detail.

Layers of Time, installed in the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, photographer
Klaus Rossler
Mended World came home the other day.
Safely.
Next, this body of work goes to the
Art Gallery of Sudbury in January 2014. I've been to the gallery to discuss the installation with curatorial staff. It will be beautiful. The gallery is in an old house and the exhibition will take up both exhibition spaces on the two floors.
So pleased to hear the exhibition will travel and more people will get to see it.
ReplyDeleteah the layers of time is just so very beautiful! Look forward to seeing the next space that will hold your Mended World.

ReplyDeleteJudy, this body of work is now a treasured part of Canadian Textile History. Simply stunning work.
ReplyDeleteHoping it will come to a Gallery within driving distance, but Sudbury is not out of the question. Now retired, a road trip might be in order.
So many congratulations and a thank you for your talent, guidance, perseverance and insight.

The details astound me. I hadn't noticed the blue line before...nor do I recall seeing the blue french knots. Looking in close up makes me wish to touch it. The saga continues. Sudbury will be grand. Someday perhaps the textile museum in New York City (wish).
ReplyDeleteThe details are amazing and I also love the overall composition and hues. Very beautiful and 'eloquent', it's a pity I won't be able to see it up close.
ReplyDeleteWords fail...so beautiful. Time-full and timeless. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSimply awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sensation of weight it transmits!
