What is the correct size for a baby quilt? The one I made for Everett three years ago is 32 inches by 49 inches, perhaps a little narrow, perhaps a little long. I checked the internet and learned that there is no expected size - it depends on how you plan to use it.

Everett dances on his quilt

and later Mr Moose slowly walked by the backyard.
Most of the baby quilts my friend makes are at least 36" by 45". Any smaller and they tend to be cot size.
ReplyDeleteI do love Everett's quilt. It is so bright and colourful - as it should be. I started out to make a pastel quilt for my niece's baby girl but my daughter said no, that it had to be bright and she was right.
The moose again - and I see the fence.
I can't imagine being up that close to a Moose. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have been making my little people quilts square according to whatever backing fabric is in play, like 42"x42". One mum told me they look great on the wall after first grade or the last baby is done with it.
ReplyDeletei make them square too. always end up around 50". probably a time thing. time for the baby. gotta stop.
ReplyDeletecool photos! both the dancing baby and the moose!
