nigel peake birds

I am re-organizing the single level of my house so that I can resume work on the project I was doing in my new studio.  I have emptied a drawer and a shelf and have set up my sewing machine and iron.
This book by Nigel Peake was on that shelf.
I think that I'll pass it on to my grand-boys.  They like to draw.

Drawings, eh? Nigel must've been a stitcher in another life!

OH, wow. These painting/drawings are wonderful and inspiring. They are giving me some thought on how I might approach an upcoming workshop I might have no business taking… Glad to hear you are adjusting to your circumstances. I was thinking about that for you. Trusting your healing is on track. Hugs.

Agree with Connie Rose. That first drawing looks like it is stitched! Nice. I like sorting and finding treasures I forgot were there. In this tiny apartment in Italy I found a Japanese magazine (Patchwork Tsushin, #184) that published some of my quits!

This particular book is entitled In The Wild - and it amuses me that Nigel Peake's idea of wilderness is rural England, with the many barns, out buildings, fences and roads that go along with nurtured rural life.

These birds and some of the trees are my favourite images in this book. My grand sons will also be interested in how Nigel Peake attempted to interpret each particular bird's song with line drawings. I can't stop thinking about that idea.
