stitched in the car again

We drove to Toronto last weekend - that's six hours each way.  Lot's of stitching time.
I've returned to this piece that I started years ago. (glimpse here)  I think it is worth finishing.
This is the back of the quilt.  It's silk fabric with a yellow cotton section at the bottom.
It was Aili's first birthday party.

such a beautiful feeling of lightness and flight held with the deep sense of touch that is carried through in all your work Judy

I guess you are not the driver then? I used to use my commuting time for this. a lot of stitching got done.

I get car sick if I stitch on the road, but it would be nice to use the time that way. Your quilt is so evocative of the depth of the sky.
Happy First Birthday Baby!

Thank you for compliments, and yes, I am lucky to be able to stitch while ned drives.

Just to remind ....this is the quilt's back and I am not going to say that this is a two sided quilt this time. However, I am pleased with the stitching on the back, as it is NOT a running stitch but the reverse of an embroidery-quilting stitch that is making an interesting mark on the back.
