what if

What if I wrap my beloved dog wood?
What if I layer the shibori cloth with wool and quilt it? I don't pretend to know where this is going. I'm feeling my way.

(nod to Jude for the excellent term what if)
and thanks to Morna for her attention

Isn't not knowing half the fun? The other half is finding out? Love your what if, by the way.

Lesley Turner, in Victoria, has been unwrapping trees lately...you might investigate...and be encouraged!

"If you know where you are going that means you've been there, and you will end up exactly where you came from" from Naomi Newman's The Snake Play -
and I want a New Way - so absolutely I agree with you. It's interesting to see what's around the next corner that I can't see yet.

And Margaret - thanks for referencing Lesley. Actually, I have been watching Lesley's videos about her rainforest trees. Lesley and I are in the same degree program from Middlesex University , London England. She and I will be exhibiting together this June. In fact, she will be exhibiting her un-wrapped cloth - and I'll probably be exhibiting this little wrapped bundle.

it is serendipitous and interesting that you have picked up on both of us. xx

to honor a thing is to let it be without judging. to free it. to risk not owning it. what if that is enough?
it is raining here and i am waiting to see what it brings.

I have just discovered your blog and website and work ... and I love to read your thoughts here and your inspirations. I love Agnes Martin, too, and Gertude Stein and Joan Mitchell ... I love your "what if"s. The pieces remind me of nests & bouquet garni, but more importantly they have an open-ended quality to them that is just... stunning. Thank you.
