Earth Ark update

Earth Ark came off the quilting frame yesterday. Chain stitch embroidery/quilting. Karen Heather Strong T pins hold the quilt to the wooden frame. They had to be removed. First I rolled it up, then I unrolled it to take out more pins. It's quite heavy now with all the additional thread. Here is a glimpse of the reverse side. A square of Marimekko fabric bordered by recycled linen damask table cloths. This secret Finnish signature is one I plan to use for all four meditation panels. Grace is home for ten days. I am so glad that she came to work on the project yesterday.

p.s. I FOUND my spiral necklace!

the Earth Ark is looking fantastic and I'm so glad you found your spiral necklace. I have a couple of pieces I would hate to loose, none particularly expensive, a ring and cross from my mum and my silver'arty angel' so I know how you felt- so good its back.

Being of Finnish descent, I thought of the reference right away when I read Merimekko, nice touch. Glad you found the spiral necklace it seems like items of importance and significance never remain lost for long, but why did it go away, what was it trying to tell you? Food for ponder.

Forgot I wanted to ask, are those french knots, colonial knots , or dotted swiss fabric? I don't remmeber you talking about them, or I missed it. Just curious, if stitched, lots of work in that, too. Wow!
